Logitech Cleanup Tool for Installshield DevStudio9 Engine

BACKGROUND:

As with many companies, Logitech QuickCam Software adopts the installation engine created by Macrovision’s Installshield Developer Studio 9 (DevStudio9). http://www.installshield.com

When Setup.exe is launched, the Installshield DevStudio9 product will copy over its supporting files before starting the Logitech QuickCam Setup script. If there is a problem with installing the Installshield DevStudio9 components, the Setup.exe may immediately exit and display an error message with a numerical identifier in the 6000-type before Logitech QuickCam Setup can start.

DESCRIPTION:

The Logitech Cleanup Tool for Installshield DevStudio9 Engine is a technical support utility that attempts to remove and clean the system of the Installshield DevStudio9 Engine which may fix several Setup.exe 6000-type errors encountered during testing.

Once the DevStudio9 Engine is removed and the computer is restarted, restarting Setup.exe should reinstall a fresh copy of the Installshield Developer Studio 9 Engine with no 6000-type error.

USE:

Simply double click on the CleanupDS9.exe and follow the several on screen prompts. Once the program completes, it is important to restart your computer before restarting Logitech QuickCam Setup. 

WARNING:

This tool will uninstall the Developer Studio 9 Engine. If the Developer Studio 9 Engine is removed, this will prevent other software that uses the Installshield Developer Studio for both installation and uninstallation until Setup.exe can successfully reinstall the Developer Studio9 Engine. Until you run Setup.exe again, you will be unable to uninstall any software that uses Installshield Developer Studio9!
